Aardvark Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Aardvark Holdings Inc. (“Aardvark,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how Aardvark Holdings Inc., a Delaware corporation, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our web app, browser extension, or any related services (“Service”), including what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights. By using Aardvark, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue using our services.

This policy applies to all users of Aardvark, including creators and shoppers, and covers both our web app and browser extension.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use Aardvark:

2.1 Automatically Collected Data

  • Creators you follow (for personalized recommendations)
  • Deals and stores you view or click on
  • Deals you redeem (to help optimize offers)
  • Session activity (pages visited, clicks, time spent)
  • Referral source (how you discovered Aardvark)
  • Device & browser information (IP address, OS, browser version)

2.2 Account & Profile Information

  • Google authentication data: name, email, and profile picture
  • Username (auto-generated, e.g., @firstname_lastname)
  • Subscription status & membership level (creators only)

2.3 Optional Social Connections

If you connect social accounts like Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube, we may access publicly available data (followers, profile picture, display name) to enhance your creator experience.

2.4 Payment Information

We do not store your credit card or bank information. All payments are securely processed by third-party providers (e.g., Stripe), who are PCI-DSS compliant.

2.5 What We DO NOT Collect

  • Private messages or personal communications
  • Sensitive personal data (health, religion, political views)
  • Government-issued IDs or biometric data

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected information to:

  • Personalize your experience (show relevant creators, deals, and recommendations)
  • Improve platform functionality and optimize features
  • Help creators and brands deliver better offers
  • Prevent fraud, maintain security, and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

We never sell your personal data. We may share anonymized, aggregated insights with partners to improve the platform.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (For EU/UK Users)

If you are located in the EU/UK, we only process your personal data where we have a legal basis to do so, including:

  • To perform our contract with you (providing Aardvark's services)
  • For our legitimate business interests (improving the platform, preventing fraud)
  • With your consent (for optional analytics, cookies, or ad personalization)
  • To comply with legal obligations

5. Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Remember your login session
  • Understand usage trends (analytics)
  • Personalize recommendations
  • Show relevant ads (optional, you can opt out)

You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings or via your Aardvark account settings.

6. Personalized Ads & Data Sharing

Aardvark believes ads should be helpful, not intrusive. If you enable Personalized Ads, we use your activity on Aardvark—such as creators you follow, deals you click, and stores you visit—to make ads and content more relevant to you.

We may also use limited data from trusted partners (like a creator's newsletter list or a brand's website pixel) to show exclusive deals or promotions aligned with your interests. For example, if a creator you follow uploads a coffee brand deal, and that brand also runs a promotion for previous site visitors, you may see the same deal if both share data with us.

How Does This Help?

  • You see fewer random, irrelevant ads
  • You get more offers from creators and brands you actually like
  • You never pay more due to personalization—in fact, you may save more

Your Options & Controls

You can manage ad-related settings anytime in Account Settings → Privacy & Security:

  • Turn off personalized ads: We'll stop combining your Aardvark activity with partner data (but you'll still see general ads).
  • Limit data sharing: Choose whether we share limited info with partners to support relevant ads and platform improvements.
  • Disable location-based personalization: We won't tailor your experience based on location history.

Third-Party Platforms

Some partners (like Google or Meta) may show ads on Aardvark's behalf on other sites. These platforms use their own personalization systems governed by their privacy policies. You can opt out of interest-based ads from other companies through:

If You Opt Out

You'll still see ads on Aardvark, but they may be less relevant to your interests. Your data will still be used to ensure core platform functions (e.g., billing, logins, and fraud detection).

6. When We Share Your Data

We only share your information with trusted third parties:

  • Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics)
  • Payment processors (Stripe for subscription payments)
  • Advertising partners (optional, for ad personalization)
  • Legal authorities if required by law or to protect our rights

All partners are required to meet strict data privacy and security obligations.

7. Third-Party Links

Aardvark may contain links to third-party websites or stores. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites. We encourage you to review their policies before providing any personal information.

8. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only as long as needed to provide Aardvark's services and comply with legal obligations. If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe (usually within 30 days).

9. Data Security & Breach Notifications

We use encryption, secure access controls, and regular audits to protect your information. In the unlikely event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights or freedoms, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities in accordance with applicable laws.

10. International Data Transfers

Aardvark is based in the United States. If you access our services from outside the U.S., your data may be transferred and processed in countries that may not have the same data protection laws as your country of residence. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR (Europe), CCPA (California), or similar laws, including:

  • Right to access and receive a copy of your data
  • Right to correct inaccurate information
  • Right to request deletion of your data
  • Right to opt out of personalized ads or analytics
  • Right to data portability (exporting your data)

To exercise these rights, email support@joinaardvark.com.

12. AI & Automated Decision-Making

Aardvark may use algorithms to personalize recommendations and display relevant offers. These processes do not have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and you can opt out of personalization in your account settings.

13. Age Restrictions

Aardvark is not intended for children under 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover such data, we will delete it.

14. Business Transfers

If Aardvark is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are significant, we will notify you via email or an in-app alert. The latest version will always be available at joinaardvark.com/privacy.
